Roguelike Development in the 21st Century
From my experience, databases often bring more problems than solutions. I'd suggest using files!
Well, I like using databases for things like HiScore tables and so on, and SQLLite has an incredibly small footprint. But for monster definitions at least, I'm definitely going to go for edit files in a future version!
