A prompt like you have is good, but why not allow for custom prompts as well, with a list of $variables the player can substitute in?
I expect I eventually will allow this. There's so many things I've discovered whilst refactoring that I want to allow the player to change and configure.
Listing HP and MP in full mode is obviously necessary, but I would argue so is AC, EV, and SP. Presumambly there will eventually be situations/monsters/attacks that can temporarily (or permanently) reduce your AC, and if you've suddenly experienced a 10% drop in AC (which can easily happen to a non-tank PC in crawl against an acid blob) that fact should be as obvious as possible.

Great! I love this simplified view very much!
